We will share, learn and practice a variety of meditative techniques, including using breath, imagery, mindfulness, movement, sound, creativity and compassion. We will be meeting Mondays, 12noon to 12:45 in ... More »University Hall Room 4-033, and Tuesdays 7:30-8:30 PM in the Women's Center. Each week we begin with stretching and a brief guided meditation to center ourselves in the present moment, in our breath, and in our bodies. Then we focus on the theme and technique for that week. We usually close with a silent sitting meditation for at least 10 minutes.

Description: Dr. Dan Siegel, psychotherapist and executive director of the Mindsight Institute speaks will discuss his work and research Thursday, Feb. 11 at 7 p.m. at Lesley University.

Siegel, a clinical professor of psychiatry at UCLA Medical School, will deliver a lecture entitled “The Power ... More »of the Mind to Change the Brain: Harnessing Mindsight to Cultivate Well-Being and Compassion.” His newest book is Mindsight: The New Science of Transformation. Siegel will deliver the Sonnabend Lecture, honoring the memory of Elsa Sonnabend, former Chairwoman of the Lesley University Board of Trustees.

This lecture is free and open to the public. It is part of Lesley University’s Centennial Year celebration.
